State Council Hong Kong & Macao Affairs Office Director Xia Baolong met with the Airport Authority delegation, led by Chairman Fred Lam, at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing today.

During the meeting, Mr. Xia commended the efforts and achievements of Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) over the past few years. He urged the management team to support Chief Executive John Lee and the SAR Government in administering Hong Kong according to the law. He also emphasized the importance of leveraging Hong Kong’s unique position and strengths under the “one country, two systems” framework to contribute to national development.

Mr. Lam committed to capitalizing on HKIA’s advantage of “enjoying strong support from the motherland and maintaining close global connections” to develop HKIA into a world-class international aviation hub.
