MadameNoire recently sat down with tween actress Londyn Carter, a young star whose energy is as captivating off-screen as it is on. Fresh from her role in The Lost Holliday, Londyn shared her experience playing Arielle, a character whose story is filled with the complexities of family, loss, and love. In this touching film, audiences are taken through the emotional journey of a family torn apart by grief, while also witnessing the strength of family bonds. At its heart, The Lost Holliday stars Vivica A. Fox and Jussie Smollett, and celebrates the beauty of LGBTQIA+ representation, telling the story of a same-gender-loving couple and their triumphs amidst family challenges.

Londyn’s warmth shined through as she reflected on her experience with the film. “Arielle is funny, kind, and someone people will love watching,” she said with a smile.

As a young actress, Londyn not only brought her natural optimism to the role, but also formed a close bond with her on-screen family, especially enjoying the humor and support of her two on-screen dads. Also known for performances in shows like Abbott Elementary and Snowfall, Londyn is charting her own path in the industry, and The Lost Holliday is simply the next step in her exciting journey.

MadameNoire: Tell us about your new film, The Lost Holliday and your character, Arielle.
Londyn Carter: My character Arielle is a girl who’s very much like me: she’s kind, and optimistic. She is Jesse’s adopted daughter, and she is very funny. The movie is basically about a husband who dies, and I think that my character is like they’re saying that I have to leave and it made me feel sad.

Tell us about what it was like having two dads on set.
That was fun because they were very funny; They were very nice.

Despite being so young, you were very professional on set. Give us some tips on how you learned your lines.
The way I learned my lines was to look over them a couple of times, and then sometimes I even make it into a song. So then the next morning I wake up and I know it.

In terms of acting, what other roles have you played in and what type of roles are you aspiring to be in?
I have been in Abbott Elementary, Snowfall, and a couple of national commercials, but I want to be in the show that’s on Disney called Percy Jackson.

When people go to the movies and see this film, what do you want them to know about your character, Arielle?
I want them to know how bright and amazing the girl’s character is. I want them to see it in her and all the other characters.
