This February, in celebration of Black History Month, Disney Parks is rolling out a vibrant, soul-filled experience with Celebrate Soulfully. This special event honors Black heritage and culture through exciting attractions, food, music, art, and unforgettable moments for the whole family, according to DisneyParks Blog. Here’s a look at what’s in store for Disney fans in both Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, and Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, during Black History Month. 

Walt Disney World Resort

Kicking off the festivities on Feb. 1, Celebrate Soulfully will be led by Emmy Award-winning journalist and TV host Tamron Hall, who will serve as the Grand Marshal of a magical parade at Magic Kingdom Park Hall and will guide guests through a celebration filled with joy, music, and cultural pride. The parade will start at 3 p.m. ET, making its way through the park and down Main Street. And that’s just the start of the fun.

One of the biggest highlights at Walt Disney World Resort is the debut of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, a new attraction where guests can embark on an exhilarating, musical journey with Princess Tiana from the wildly popular Disney film, Princess and The Frog. The ride features a heartwarming adventure and a thrilling 50-foot drop. In addition to the ride, visitors can meet and greet with Princess Tiana herself and jam out to music courtesy of Grammy Award-winning musician, PJ Morton.

For fans of Broadway, there will be special performances by Disney on Broadway artists at Epcot, bringing incredible live music to the park. Set to take place at the America Gardens Theatre, the exciting performance will feature a talented lineup, including Jelani Remy from The Lion King, Alton Fitzgerald White, also from The Lion King, Michael James Scott from Aladdin, and Kissy Simmons, another standout star from The Lion King. 

And of course, no celebration would be complete without delicious food! Disney’s culinary team will be serving up flavorful dishes like Blackened Salmon, giving guests a taste of rich Southern cuisine.

Out West, Celebrate Soulfully at Disneyland Resort brings even more entertainment and cultural experiences to the forefront. On Feb. 8 and Feb.15, get ready for spectacular live performances by the gospel group DOE and Melvin Crispell III. Both will bring the house down with their powerful vocals and energetic presence. Princess Tiana fans will want to stop by New Orleans Square, where Tiana’s world comes to life. Visitors can shop at Eudora’s Chic Boutique or enjoy a meal at Tiana’s Palace Restaurant, where the magic of the bayou meets delicious cuisine.

Disneyland Resort

The menu definitely doesn’t disappoint. Tiana’s Palace is serving up delicious limited-edition dishes to celebrate the holiday, including the mouthwatering Catfish Po’Boy. The Southern-style catfish filet, dusted to perfection, comes with lettuce, tomatoes, and mayonnaise on toasted New Orleans French bread, topped with remoulade sauce. It’s served alongside black-eyed pea stew, hot water cornbread, and house-made pickles, perfectly capturing the flavors of the season.

Guests can also interact with superheroes from the Black Panther universe, including the Wakanda Warriors, for an epic meet-and-greet experience. If jazz is more your vibe, make sure to catch smooth tunes from Joe Gardner, the soulful character from Pixar’s Soul, on select days.
