In July 2024, Austrian Airlines is set to embark on a new journey, introducing a year-round nonstop flight from Vienna to Boston. The flagship carrier of Austria plans to initially operate up to six weekly flights to the East Coast metropolis in the United States, utilizing a Boeing 767-300 configured with 211 seats across three classes.

Expressing excitement for this strategic expansion, Michael Trestl, Chief Commercial Officer of Austrian Airlines, stated, “We are thrilled to unveil Boston as a new and highly appealing destination. This expansion not only enriches our long-haul offerings but also fortifies the Vienna hub. Boston’s globally renowned universities, such as Harvard and MIT, its business ties, and the city’s unique charm make it an intriguing and alluring travel destination. Moreover, it will become even more convenient for visitors and tourists from New England to reach Vienna in the future.”

The intercontinental network of Austrian Airlines expands to include Boston, bringing the total number of destinations to 19. The flight between Vienna and Boston, covering approximately 6,500 kilometers in about 9 hours, will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, with an additional service every second Tuesday. Departing from Vienna at 10:40 am, the flight arrives in Boston at 1:50 pm local time. The return journey from Boston departs at 5:10 pm, landing in Vienna at 7:25 am local time the following day.

By adding Boston to its route map, Austrian Airlines significantly broadens its intercontinental reach, providing passengers in 2024 with access to over 125 cities worldwide.
