Belfast City Airport has once again earned the prestigious ‘Very Good’ rating for accessibility, marking its seventh consecutive year of achieving the highest possible score in this category. The recognition comes from the Civil Aviation Authority’s (CAA) annual report, which evaluates airports across the UK on their commitment to providing equal air travel opportunities for disabled and less mobile passengers.

This consistent accolade highlights Belfast City Airport’s dedication to ensuring that all passengers, regardless of mobility challenges, can enjoy a seamless and inclusive travel experience. The airport’s ongoing efforts to prioritize accessibility underscore its role as a leading gateway for travelers seeking a hassle-free journey.

Belfast City Airport continues to lead the way in accessibility, bolstered by its unique Autism in the Air programme and a host of other initiatives designed to ensure every passenger enjoys a stress-free and comfortable journey.

Driven by valuable feedback from its Accessibility Forum, the airport has made significant improvements to its dedicated area in the Departures Lounge. Enhancements include a more strategic location, a variety of seating options, and the improved clarity and lowered positioning of flight information screens— all aimed at better serving passengers with varying needs.

Between April 2023 and March 2024, Belfast City Airport was one of just 11 airports across the UK to be rated ‘very good’ for accessibility. It shares this commendation with its partners, including Cornwall Newquay, East Midlands, Leeds Bradford, Newcastle, Glasgow, and Southampton, all of which have demonstrated a strong commitment to providing an inclusive travel experience.
