A study from last year conducted by audience research firm GWI found that people in Generation Z feel lonlier than those in any other generation. Among 1,821 respondents from around the world, eight in ten (80 percent) in Gen Z said they’d felt lonely in the preceding twelve months, compared to just 45 percent of baby boomers who reported feeling the same. Loneliness is more prevalent in Gen Z males, too, with nearly a third (31 percent) saying their single status was a major factor. Just 17 percent of Gen Z females reported being lonely due to lack of a significant other.
