Extracorporeal liver cross-circulation using genetically modified pig livers was feasible in a human decedent model, providing effective temporary liver support with minimal immunosuppression. In this model, xenograft integrity was preserved, and metabolic and hemodynamic stability were maintained even after removal of the native human liver in the decedent.- February 11, 2026

Capillary blood sampling for the Alzheimer’s disease biomarkers p-tau217, NfL and GFAP correlates with venous measures for the same biomarkers. As capillary p-tau217 accurately classified amyloid burden, it might support remote assessment in large-scale epidemiology to estimate the prevalence of Alzheimer’s disease and enable triage into clinical services and trials.- February 11, 2026

In a randomized controlled study involving 1,298 participants from a general sample, performance of humans when assisted by a large language model (LLM) was sensibly inferior to that of the LLM alone when assessing ten medical scenarios leading to disease identification and recommendations for treatment.- February 9, 2026
