Meyer Turku, a prominent Finnish shipbuilding company, has announced the appointment of Casimir Lindholm as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective from May 2025.

This leadership transition is part of a strategic generational change within the Meyer Group, following Bernard Meyer’s recent handover of the chairman position to Jaakko Eskola.​

Casimir Lindholm brings a wealth of experience to Meyer Turku, having served as the President and CEO of Cargotec Oyj, a Finnish company specializing in cargo handling machinery for ships, ports, terminals, and local distribution.

Lindholm holds a Master of Science in Economics and a Master of Business Administration, equipping him with a strong foundation for his new role.​

During his tenure at Cargotec, Lindholm played a pivotal role in the company’s transformation.

In 2024, under his leadership, Cargotec successfully executed a two-year transformation project, achieving major goals such as the separation of Hiab and Kalmar into standalone companies and finding a solution for MacGregor.

Despite a complex market environment, Cargotec reported a comparable operating profit of EUR 217 million, corresponding to 13.2% of sales.

Lindholm’s commitment to sustainability was evident as Cargotec’s greenhouse gas emissions decreased by 21% in 2024 compared to the previous year. ​

At Meyer Turku, Lindholm will succeed Tim Meyer, who will transition to the company’s Board of Directors as vice-chair.

This move allows Tim Meyer to focus on the strategic development of the shipyard and other family-owned enterprises.

The Meyer family maintains a strong commitment to Meyer Turku, with the company being entirely family-owned.​

Jaakko Eskola, the executive chair of Meyer Turku’s board, expressed confidence in Lindholm’s appointment, highlighting his extensive leadership experience across various industries, including construction.

Eskola noted that he has previously collaborated successfully with Lindholm in a family-majority-owned company, underscoring Lindholm’s suitability for the role.​

Lindholm has expressed his honor in taking on the CEO role at Meyer Turku and looks forward to working with the shipyard’s talented team.
