To celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8, digital travel platform Agoda unveiled key travel insights about South Korean women. The findings highlight that while both men and women plan to travel more in 2025, South Korean women are at the forefront—seeking new destinations and valuing shared experiences in their journeys.
Embracing New Destinations
According to the survey, 67% of South Korean women expressed interest in visiting unfamiliar destinations, surpassing the Asia-wide average of 60%. This enthusiasm showcases their growing curiosity for diverse cultures and landscapes. South Korean women are stepping beyond well-known tourist spots and embracing the excitement of exploring new markets and unique travel experiences.
Prioritizing Family Travel
The study also revealed that 39% of South Korean women prefer traveling with family, while 22% opt for trips with their partners. By embarking on these meaningful journeys with loved ones, they are enhancing their travel experiences through deeper connections and lasting memories.
Short Yet Fulfilling Getaways
When it comes to trip duration, 52% of South Korean women favor short trips lasting 2–5 days. These quick getaways offer the perfect blend of cultural immersion, adventure, and relaxation, allowing them to escape from their daily routines without extensive time commitments.
With South Korean women leading the charge in exploring new places and prioritizing quality time with loved ones, 2025 is set to be a transformative year for women’s travel trends in South Korea.
