Paul Heyman, an American professional wrestling manager, photographer, executive, and former promoter, was born on September 11, 1965. He presently has a deal with WWE, where he appears on SmackDown as Roman Reigns’ “wise man” and “special counsel.”

Heyman entered the world of professional wrestling in 1986. He was recognized as the main creative power behind the Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) company and held the position of CEO from 1993 until its demise in 2001.

Under the ring moniker Paul E. Dangerously, he managed World Championship Wrestling (WCW) and other promotions before starting ECW. Selected as one of Advertising Age’s Top 100 Global Marketers, he is a co-owner of the New York City-based Looking4Larry Agency.

Heyman has managed or assisted in managing six world champions in the WWE: The Big Show, Kurt Angle, Rob Van Dam, CM Punk, Brock Lesnar, and Roman Reigns. Critics have hailed his leadership and public speaking abilities.

Paul Heyman is the son of Sulamita Heyman (1928–2009) and renowned attorney and World War II veteran Richard S. Heyman (1926–2013). Richard is of Jewish descent, and Sulamita suffered throughout the Holocaust in the Łódź Ghetto, Bergen-Belsen, and Auschwitz.
