Avelo Airlines is excited to declare the establishment of Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport (STS) as its latest operational base, building on its nearly three years of service in the Bay Area. Scheduled to open on May 1, this new base will serve as a platform for Avelo to further extend the benefits of its low fares, convenience, and reliability that were introduced to the region in April 2021.

Andrew Levy, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Avelo Airlines, expressed enthusiasm about the choice of STS as their base, citing its friendly and efficient atmosphere. Reflecting on the significance of the Bay Area in their history since the inaugural flight in 2021, Levy highlighted that over 300,000 customers have enjoyed Avelo’s services to and from STS. He emphasized the excitement about the growth potential the airport offers and the positive impact on employment and the local economy.

Avelo plans to initially station two Boeing Next-Generation 737 aircraft at STS and anticipates employing up to 50 Crewmembers, including Pilots, Flight Attendants, and Aviation Maintenance Technicians, upon the base’s launch in May. The airline currently operates nonstop flights from STS to Bend/Redmond, OR (RDM), Las Vegas, NV (LAS), Los Angeles/Burbank, CA (BUR), and Palm Springs, CA (PSP).

Avelo’s flight schedule includes service to RDM twice weekly, LAS up to four days per week, BUR daily (except Wednesdays), and PSP up to four days per week. The airline is excited about the prospects of this partnership with STS, anticipating new connections and operational enhancements for the community.

The one-way fares from STS start at $72, offering affordable options for travelers.
