Cancún Sabor Mexicano, a new quick-service restaurant, has recently opened its doors to travelers at Terminal 1 of Oakland International Airport. This eatery, inspired by the popular Berkeley location of the same name, brings the vibrant flavors of Mexican cuisine to airport-goers. Adding to OAK’s revamped food and beverage offerings, Cancún becomes the eleventh new concession to join the lineup. Proudly operated by Soaring Food Group, a Berkeley-based, African American-owned concessionaire, this restaurant brings a taste of authenticity and diversity to the airport experience.

“We are very pleased to be unveiling our newest restaurant, Cancún Sabor Mexicano for our Terminal 1 passengers,” says Craig Simon, Interim Director of Aviation at the Port of Oakland. “This particular concession was developed due to the significance of its streetside location in Berkeley. This aligns perfectly with our refreshed food and beverage program that places an emphasis on local features.”

For three decades, Cancún Sabor Mexicano has been a beloved fixture in Downtown Berkeley, catering to the appetites of countless Berkeley High School and University of California, Berkeley students. Now, bringing its renowned flavors to Oakland International Airport, the restaurant promises an array of Mexican delights, from burritos and tacos to quesadillas and ceviche. Early birds can indulge in a full breakfast menu featuring chilaquiles, breakfast burritos, and more. With options like vegan al pastor and chorizo, there’s something for everyone. Operating from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM daily, find Cancún Sabor Mexicano conveniently located in Terminal 1, near Gate 9.
