Accelya leads NDC development with 19 airlines onboard, including Delta, promising enhanced retail and service options.

Accelya, recognized as a frontrunner in NDC development, has implemented its platform across 19 airlines, including pioneers like American, United, and Qantas, announced Andrew Wilcock, the company’s chief revenue officer.

“As Delta embarks on this path, we will draw on our substantial expertise to devise the appropriate strategy,” Wilcock commented.

Last week, Sara Reid, who oversees sales technology and global sales at Delta, indicated that Delta is on track to trial an NDC interface with chosen partners by year’s end. She emphasized that Delta will introduce NDC to travel agencies only when it adequately meets their requirements. Additionally, Reid confirmed that Delta would not introduce a GDS surcharge on existing content within the GDSs, nor will it remove content from GDSs to promote NDC.

Accelya highlights that its sophisticated NDC solutions enhance customer service and boost airline ancillary revenues along with customized promotions for passengers.

Accelya also mentioned that its platform will assist Delta in transitioning to a more efficient retail method called Offer and Order. This new approach consolidates various records into a single customer record, replacing the traditional passenger name record (PNR), e-tickets, and ancillary purchase records, known as electronic miscellaneous documents (EMDs).

Just two days before Delta chose Accelya, Amadeus revealed that British Airways had opted for its Nevio system to advance its Offer and Order capabilities. British Airways joins Finnair and Saudia as the third airline to adopt Nevio since its launch last autumn.

Amadeus explained that Nevio will enable more flexible bundle creation and streamline the management of NDC-enabled bookings, such as during flight disruptions, accessible from any device through any booking channel.
