Delta Reveals Team USA-Inspired A350 in France, Extending Partnership to 2028

Today in Toulouse, France, Delta revealed its unique Airbus A350 sporting the Team USA aircraft livery, paying homage to the airline’s dedication to championing athletes’ endeavors and bridging them with their aspirations as the official carrier of Team USA. This A350, inspired by Team USA, marks Delta’s ongoing eight-year collaboration with the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee, extending until the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

“Unveiling the Team USA aircraft for the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024 marks a major milestone for Delta’s support of Team USA as we look toward the start of competition in just a few months,” said Chief Marketing Officer Alicia Tillman. “This plane, designed by our in-house creative team, represents Delta’s commitment to Team USA and our partnership to elevate these athletes to reach their highest potential. As this plane flies around the world in the coming months and years, we hope it is seen as a symbol of hard work, dedication and the upward momentum to being the best that Team USA and Delta innately share.”

DELTA’S CHAIRMAN’S CLUB EMBRACES DELIVERY IN TOULOUSE

In Toulouse, where Airbus’ global headquarters reside and where the aircraft was meticulously crafted and adorned this year, a remarkable event unfolded. Delta’s Chairman’s Club, an esteemed cohort comprising the airline’s top 100 employees hailing from various divisions, graced the occasion, marking their inaugural presence during the unveiling moment.

These outstanding individuals, nominated by both their peers and Delta’s senior leadership, epitomize excellence across the company’s spectrum. Annually handpicked based on their exceptional contributions and embodiment of the Delta ethos, the Chairman’s Club Honorees garner distinction. As a token of acknowledgment for their unwavering dedication, these honorees are privileged to fly home to Atlanta aboard a freshly minted Delta aircraft.

In a jubilant prelude to the Paris Games, the 2023 honoree cohort reveled in the revelation of the striking new Team USA livery design, seizing the opportunity to be the pioneer passengers aboard this newly adorned plane. Members of the 2023 class graced the occasion with their presence, marking yet another milestone in Delta’s illustrious journey.

“Team USA athletes are resilient and perseverant – much like Delta’s own people who work each day behind the scenes to connect the world,” said VP of Global Communications Gina Laughlin. “Celebrating this moment alongside our 2023 Chairman’s Club Honorees is only fitting as Delta’s people and Team USA work diligently each day to bring the best of themselves to their work. No one better understand what it means to Keep Climbing to the top.”

The aircraft will be flown back to Atlanta on May 3 by the honored members of Delta’s Chairman’s Club.

CRAFTING THE LIVERY
Over the span of several months, Alessandra Rabellino and Delta’s in-house brand design team, Window Seat, meticulously crafted the custom livery. Featuring a vibrant palette of red, white, and blue, adorned with the bold inscription ‘Team USA,’ the design pays homage to the spirit of the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Beijing 2022. It seamlessly integrates elements from the previous Team USA Livery while introducing forward-looking elements that hint at future partnerships, including those in Paris and beyond.

“We evolved one of the main features from the Beijing Livery – the jet stream – into the shape of the Eiffel Tower, symbolizing momentum as we countdown to Paris,” Rabellino said.  “Being able to see the big reveal after the curtain drop was so exciting. But what is even more special is being part of this occasion alongside the Chairman’s Club Honorees who have such a big impact on our company – it’s a true honor.”

Delta revealed its unique Airbus A350 Team USA aircraft livery on May 2 in Toulouse, France, as a tribute to the airline’s dedication to championing athletes’ journeys and linking them to their aspirations as the official carrier of Team USA. Keir Simmons of NBC offered an insider’s view on TODAY.
