New Mi Casa Cantina Restaurant Debuts at Ontario International Airport
On Thursday, April 25, Ontario International Airport (ONT) marked the grand opening of Mi Casa Cantina, its latest restaurant addition. This event highlights the ongoing overhaul of the airport’s dining options through a partnership with SSP America. Situated in Terminal 4, Mi Casa Cantina introduces travelers to original and creative Mexican cuisine in a vibrant setting, featuring a menu of homemade salsas, salads, quesadillas, bowls, burritos, guacamole, and other Mexican-inspired dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
The unveiling of Mi Casa Cantina is part of a broader, aggressive expansion of food and beverage options initiated when the Ontario International Airport Authority (OIAA) teamed up with SSP America early last year. The partnership is expected to generate $66 million in non-aeronautical revenue for OIAA over its initial 20-year term, which supports airport operations and contributes to lower landing fees and other costs for airlines, ultimately enhancing the traveler experience. The airport has also welcomed new venues like Einstein Bros. in Terminal 4 and Pizza Vino in Terminal 2, with more upgrades ongoing at Urban Crave and Tap & Pour.

These enhanced concessions delight travelers with a variety of food and beverage options, providing jobs for local residents and generating millions of dollars a year in revenues to support ONT’s mission of connecting people and places,” said Elisa Grey, OIAA’s chief revenue management officer.

We fully support the airport’s efforts to elevate the culinary program with memorable experiences for travelers to enjoy before their departure,” said Oscar Hernandez, regional vice president of SSP America.
Moreover, OIAA’s Revenue Management team has successfully introduced popular outlets including Chick-fil-A, Dunkin’ Donuts, Brewery X, and the airport’s first Top Golf Swing Suite. A March study by Upgraded Points ranked ONT third in the nation for fast food accessibility.
ONT continues to be a standout in the aviation industry, recording 37 consecutive months of year-over-year passenger growth. In the first quarter of 2024 alone, passenger volumes were 10% higher than the previous year, setting the airport on track to potentially reach its pre-Great Recession record of 7.2 million passengers set in 2007.
